Our way to a more sustainable future.

We are an environmentally aware company that is proactive in its approach to safe safeguarding the environment and in playing its part in tackling climate change. We believe in making a difference, both at a personal and corporate level, through our actions and behaviour.

We believe that being sustainable is a mindset and not just a philosophy. In our quest to become more sustainable, we have began partnerships with organisations that help us achieve our sustainability goals. We also believe in offering products from suppliers that are sustainable and have the same approach as us when it comes to safeguarding the environment.

Plant-a-Tree

We are an environmentally aware company that is proactive in its approach to safeguarding the environment and in playing its part in tackling climate change through our Plant-A-Tree (PAT) initiative.
Quite simply, for every desk we sell, we will plant a tree.

Edit Office Tackles Climate Change

We have an exciting partnership with the Global Climate Institute, where we plant a tree in Tanzania for every desk sold.

Edit Office will fund the planting of a tree for every desk you buy.

These trees will be planted in Tanzania and distributed to individuals, families and groups, like churches, schools and clinics. A variety of tree species are distributed to provide fruit, fencing, nitrogen fixing, firewood, animal feed and medicine.

Why Tanzania?

The deforestation rate in Tanzania is amongst the highest in East Africa. For a country where the forests typically help fuel the national economy, this degradation has a dramatic impact on rural communities, causing major food insecurity. Luckily, tree planting proves to be one of the most versatile and cost effective means to improve the quality of life for people living in impoverished areas, as the trees will provide decades of food, medicine, shade, firewood, carbon fixation, environmental enhancements, wildlife habitat and benefit the global climate.

Experienced agro forestry trainers and trained workers are hired to grow tree seedlings in the nursery. These employees develop the nursery, train other families in the program, as well as the community at large, on how to plant and take care of the trees. They distribute seedlings once the holes have been prepared for planting and oversee the maintenance and care of the trees. Trees are distributed to individuals, families and groups, like churches, schools and clinics. A variety of species are distributed to provide fruit, fencing, nitrogen fixing, firewood, animal feed and medicine.

Tree distribution goes hand in hand with training on how to plant and how to protect them for the long term. Up to date, a total of 2500 households and 130 schools have received training and support to plant trees on homesteads, farms and school grounds. Finally, there are many thousands of local residents in Rorya and Tarime districts that benefit from the environmental enrichment that these trees provide.

Project Goals
• Restore native forest
• Increase food security
• Create access to clean water
• Promote access to medicinal and other forest products

The Global Climate Institute is a global project which aims to promote and create new and innovative green solutions and environmental projects around the world.

Reuse and recycling of Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment.

Edit Office is a registered Recolight member and WEEE certified for all sit-stand desks.

The WEEE Regulations purpose is to make sure Electronic and Electrical Equipment (EEE) is recycled; keeping this harmful waste stream from landfill. The regulations aim to improve the environmental performance of businesses that manufacture, supply, use, recycle and recover EEE. You may have obligations under the WEEE Regulations if you are a business which sells electrical or electronic equipment.

Recolight uses Approved Authorised Treatment Facilities to recycle waste. This ensures that the waste is treated responsibly, maximising the amount of recycling that can achieved and its impact on the environment. We have full duty of care traceability – we know exactly where the waste we collect has come from, and how and where it gets recycled. Recolight Members recognise that WEEE compliance is about more than just ticking a box and are actively committed to protecting the environment.
